Tour Details
Day 1 : Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert
Early in the morning departure from Fes heading south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. The first stop is Ifrane often called the Switzerland of Morocco where you can enjoy its clean streets and alpine style architecture. Continue to the cedar forest of Azrou to see the famous Barbary monkeys and enjoy a short break in nature.
Drive through mountain landscapes Berber villages and the town of Midelt before crossing the scenic Ziz Valley. Stop at panoramic viewpoints overlooking the palm groves and desert scenery. Continue through Erfoud known for fossils and desert products before arriving in Merzouga.
In the late afternoon begin a camel trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi to watch a magical sunset in the Sahara. Arrive at the desert camp where you will enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner Berber music around the campfire and an overnight stay in a standard or luxury desert tent under the stars.
Day 2 : Merzouga Desert – Ziz Valley – Middle Atlas – Fes
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes one of the most unforgettable moments of the tour. After breakfast at the camp return by camel or 4x4 to Merzouga village. Begin the journey back to Fes passing through Erfoud the Ziz Valley and the Middle Atlas Mountains.
